The official Abalone game for Android

Very well, this is how it works: if you played -thereby loved- Abalone at the time, look for the "download" tab and go ahead. For sure, trust us.

In case you haven't ever played Abalone, or you haven't even ever heard about it, know that it was one of the latest gifts XX Century gave us, a game that took two minutes to learn but you fell for a lifetime. To start with, this game comes with one of the most comprehensive and useful tutorials ever, indeed we wonder why not all poker, chess and whatever board games for mobile devices don't come with similar introductory features.

User interface and graphics are above average to what we are used to, looking great even on low end devices. Game brings a level-based "campaign", so solo playing becomes a delight over 60 levels peppered with quite a handful achievements. In addition, all known variants of the game have been included and there's an editor in case that isn't enough. Of course, there's a hotseat multiplayer option to liven up your bus trips, and also an asynchronous online option.

Anyway, it's how all board game apps should be, able to not only add a new way to play Abalone, but also lure new players into it.

This is the paid version of it, but there's a free version you might check out first.

On Android 5.0.1 at least, the app won't log in Play Games for synchronisation : after choosing the right Google account, it just lags forever and does nothing. Please fix this bug as it is painful to restart from scratch and not get the achievements recorded.

The game itself is fine, but every time I start the game it wants me to sign into Google Play Games services and whatnot... Every time! There is no way of turning this off. I don't care for Google's shitty services all I want is to play that game.

Unable to play with specific users which is a bummer. Opponents are randomly selected. Interface is nice though.
