Whether you want to play classic Infocom adventures or the Inform-based works of modern IF authors, it's your choice !

Download publicly available Interactive Fiction from the Interactive Fiction Archive with the built-in search tool or transfer them from your computer to your device's SD card. ZMPP can automatically recognize a large number of popular classic and modern works of Interactive Fiction.

This is the official Android version of the "Z-Machine Preservation Project" (ZMPP), based on the Open Source project at

Issues can be reported under:


- All Z-story versions except 6
- save games in Quetzal format (are stored on the SD card)
- search and download stories from the Interactive Fiction Archive
- reads plain Z-Machine format or Blorb
- colors, styles, character graphics font
- unicode support

    I don't know if it was just me but I couldn't make jfrotzs text big enough. this app has plenty of font size options and other customization and if this app had a scroll feature and a way to browse games without searching, like a list you could sort by to

    Status bar is too small to read clearly. Same requests as others. Also please add confirmation for quitting. I unintentionally quit a few times, losing my place. I wish I had arrow keys to reuse previous commands.

    It isn't updated anymore so I can't play any IFs newly released in 2013,otherwise it would be 5 stars.

    By far the best of the three available zmachine options. Has some issues with games that do more complex screen operations , and I had issues getting save files to work with interpreters on Ubuntu (but not Windows, so I think it )may have been file transf
