Openly influenced by Magic and many other fantasy role playing collectible card games (abbreviated FYI, fantasy RPG CCGs), Battlegrounds of Eldhelm main features are a not too complicated set of rules, easy to read cards and a direct approach with flashy combos but not too twisted strategies. Hand-drawn artwork is fine and always welcomed, and there's a step by step tutorial so you can learn the basics even if you haven't ever played a similar game before.
We found there weren't many available players at the moment of this review, but there were enough. This game is played on the cloud, so it needs constant connection to the Internet, a flaw it shares with all other CCGs for mobiles. If you don't want to battle other players online, there's also a cooperative mode so you can join forces against the AI.
If you prefer to go solo, there's a campaign you can enjoy on your own and master the three different decks (colors). This game is also cross-platform, so you can also play it from home. Lastly, although there are available in-app purchases to boost your progress, this game isn't as demanding or insistent as others.
