It seems that micromanagement games aren't a fading craze on mobile, and since the first tower game there have been many who have released their own version of such sub-subgenre. Some have been more fortunate than others, that for sure, and we looked forward to check if GungHo was able to release something worthy of the massive amount of time this kind of games require.

The answer is yes, and in more than a sense. Although Freak Tower follows every single commandment of Tiny management, including residential and commercial floors, different (in fact, a lot of) characters to dwell in and many real time management to optimize resources; it also brings monsters attacking you -which mean you have to keep a reasonable amount of defenses- and customization options for the bizarre gallery of NPCs.

Therefore, Freak Tower is a game suited for those who have already played similar games, but also for those newcomers. Somewhere in the middle of casual gaming and hardcore management, it's an enjoyable game as long as you take into account that rewards don't come in the early stages of playing, and it's by far more satisfying when you've been playing it for days, when not weeks.
