Retro Ball Game

All Android devices contain an accelerometer. Here we use it to implement an enhanced version of a game common 30 or 40 years ago.

In that game there was a ball that had to be maneuvered by tilting the board so that the ball rolled into a pocket on the board. In this version the ball is a smiley face, and the pocket is a revolving shape. 'Pocket' the face by tilting your device to make the face rest over the pocket for three seconds. Just making the ball pass over the pocket will not work! Unlike the original game, each time you succeed, you earn a point, the pocket moves, and you can try again - Earn as many points as you can in two minutes.

Three levels are available. Level one is a bit like the ball is moving through light oil. It takes time both to get it moving and again to slow it down. By level three the slightest tilt will make the ball move rapidly. Just like flying a plane, the trick is to maneuver your phone or tablet GENTLY!

This app has been tested on a Samsung Galaxy Tab. Please let us know how it works on other phones/devices - if it doesn't work well on your device please don't give us a bad review - instead let us know and we will try to fix it.

NB: From v1.1 of the app, the Adobe Flash AIR runtime must be at least v2.6 to work correctly - if you have an earlier version please upgrade it for free from the market.
