Fester Mudd: Episode I is a point-and-click adventure inspired by the classic of this genre
NOTE: This is just a limited-free version. Players can't leave the town unless they upgrade to the full version.
Look at the screenshots up there. Did you feel it? If you felt like butterflies in the stomach means that you played one (or all) of the classic point-and-click adventure games such a Monkey Island, Indiana Jones: The fate of Atlantis, Loom or The Day of the Tentacle. Legendary games that kept forever the spirit of that times.
However, thanks to Replay Games Inc. we can enjoy again - this time in our mobile devices - an old-school adventure, one of those that combines challenging puzzles, hours of hilarious dialogues and retro pixelated graphics.
Fester Mudd isn't about becoming a pirate or discovering the mysteries of Atlantis Island. It is set in the Far West, actually, on the gold-digging times. Actually, the story starts when Mudd receives a letter from his brother in which he's told his brother found gold and he needs Mudd's help to collect all of it. From that moment, he's got involved on an adventure that will bring him through old saloons, stables, desert, canyons and mines; with dozens of characters and items to collect and combine.
Point and click isn't the most comfortable way to control characters on a mobile platform though, specially if the screen isn't too large. However, keeping this control system enables Fester Mudd keeping the essence of the classics. Same can be said about graphics: pixelated retro graphics with that typical adventure scenery makes all the difference.
In brief, if you are passionate of retro adventures, you shouldn't miss this one: graphics, control system, humor and lots of references to the classics.
Roused from a life of sloth to reunite with his long-lost brother in search of unimaginable riches, reluctant hero Fester Mudd somehow manages to be intrepid but cowardly, ambitious yet lazy, dimwitted but brilliant.
In Episode 1, Fester hits the trail to join his brother, Bud, in the downtrodden town of Loamsmouth. But when Bud is found to have mysteriously vanished, Fester realizes that the journey will be far longer and more treacherous than he bargained for...and he must enlist the aid of an experienced gunslinger to help him make his way through Indian territory to track down both his missing brother and the gold that awaits them both!
But gunslingers don't come cheap...and Fester must find a way to convince him to join him on the perilous quest.
This Episode sees Fester exploring Loamsmouth and surrounding territories. Along the way, he'll meet and deal with an assortment of Old West roughnecks, flim-flammers, and other larger-than-life characters...and give adventure game fans a huge blast from the past!

I wish there were more games like this. I love these type of "old school" games. When is episode II going to be released? Not sure if I can wait. I would gladly pay more for a longer episode.
I will adjust rating.
I would love to have given a 5 star rating because I found the game interesting and fun..when I could get it going, that is. It would stop often.. sometimes before it loaded.. it never let me leave town without kicking me off the game. Please fix these issues. Would he worthy of 5 stars then. Thank you
Loved it, one of the best modern examples of the classic genre. VERY disappointed at the length. No where near the length of money island or broken sword for the same money. That's the only downside. If it was cheaper it would have been 5 stars for sure
Just don't like the cost vs length... And had to start it twice for it to run properly
the name alone is 5 stars.
When I get to feed the cat the treats, on the third treat it doesn't let me click "give" to give the cat the treat... I have tried it like 10 times and it is very frustrating and time wasting.
