I personally love how smartphones are unlocking some new and original game dynamics we couldn't have imagined a few years ago. Touchscreen, accelerometer, GPS... all of them are mobile devices built-in features that give more chances for game developing. Sand Slides is one of those games: a casual game that makes the most of touchscreen and gestures to become an original title.
Thus, due to its originality, gameplay needs to be explained. In the play area, there are three Sand Chutes. Different colored Sand will fall into the play area from the Sand Chutes during the game. At the bottom of the play area are Sand Collectors. You must guide the sand into the same color collector by drawing bars and buckets with gestures (sliding). Once the sand has got to the right collector, the "line" must be removed by tapping in order to not disturb next collection of sand. You can draw buckets to keep the sand until it's time to guide it to a collector. Only three slides can be drawn in the play area.
If you collect the wrong colored sand, the grains counter at the top of the play are will decreases. When this counter reaches zero the game is over. There are three different game modes: Practice, Marathon and Challenge. There are specific records halls for all of them as well as lots of achievements to unlock.
The game is set in cute 3D graphics, physics of the sand are quite real. No complaints about touchscreen (which is what really matters in this gestured game). Great game.
