Super Monkey Ball 2 is Sega's first title for Android, and they've worked their heart out. It's set in stunning 3D graphics, childish though, and the work behind it is clearly noticeable. But, what is SMB2 about?
You have to help one of the 4 adorable monkeys to grab bananas along the way, through 125 mazes. There are 6 different Worlds: cobalt caverns, jumble jungle, ultra heaven, pirate's ocean... It even includes 10 levels from Far East World and 4 additional minigames. Remember that if you fall out or run out of time, you'll lose a life. Collect 10 bananas to earn an extra life. Win a crown for every level in a set of 10 and you'll unlock a special crown level.
Due to scenery, it reminds me half Mario Kart, half Donkey Kong 64. Although the environment is kids-friendly, both youth and elder will enjoy playing it. Tilt the screen to change the angle of the level and to roll your monkey. The optional tilt meter can help you tell how much to tilt the device. Likewise, rotate the globe by swiping left or right and then tap to select the World.
The only two catches are, first, it's difficult to get the hang of the tilt controls, the response isn't as precise as it should be; and second, it doesn't include online leaderboards to submit scores and share them. Besides that, the game is worth. Recommendable. And good luck to Sega in this new adventure.
Roll around the Far East, as you tilt and steer one of four adorable monkeys through 125 themed mazes and a beautiful world of cherry blossoms. Just grab your bananas along the way to earn extra lives before time runs out. It’s so easy to play, even a monkey could do it!!

The game itself is polished and full of levels but the lack of tilt sensitivity or the option of a virtual analog sick makes this game hard to enjoy.
Designed for phones works good on my nook. I think there should be an alternative control setup though otherwise really fun!
I would give this game a 6 star if possible but I take half the stars away because some levels are impossible with the tilt motion to move the monkey, please read and take consideration of adding analog stick controls
When I open it it stays as a black screen
As a player of the game cube super monkey ball I was excited to see a version for Android but I was worried it wouldn't translate well. But it was much better than I expected, once I got used to it I think the experience is even better on the phone because it feels more interactive. Be patient when you first start and enjoy!
