Every time I see a game called "Death Whatever", it gives me chills and raises my reviewer-sense. Moreover, if it's called "Death Rally" I can't avoid that David Carradine's flick from my childhood coming to my mind. Don't ask why, but films watched at a Beta video achieved to leave a stronger mark on my subconscious.
Anyway, here's Death Rally Free by Remedy Enterntainment. The darker side of mine expected human sacrifices and a dystopian plot after a 48 Mb downloading, but I only got an awesome racing game in exchange. A very good racing game indeed. But we're not getting ahead of ourselves.
Game start without any notice. As soon as it's downloaded and installed, you have to escape from the cops. Don't worry if you don't know how to accelerate or steer, it's an impossible mission needed by the the plot in order to start. Because yes, we insist there's a plot, a Death Rally plot in which you have to race and defeat dangerous bosses in atonement for your alleged misdeeds.
Touch response when in the store should be improved and a tutorial would be appreciated. Nonetheless, graphics are above average, gameplay is easy to pick up and play straight away, sound and music deserve a special mention and, lastly, 3D models are always great to stare at. There are off road missions and closed tracks, and overall we should say it's rather varied. Oh, and it's free, supported by in-app purchases needed to boost your progress.
Recommendable for players used to play this kind of racing games and those who want to start to play them through the main door.
