Expert's Review

4/5
Great

"A 3D racer, featuring cross-platform multiplayer!"

Reviewed by: Peter Warrior / Apr 22, 2013

A great racing game with powerful graphics and better gameplay

The game is little more than running, coming more or less conveniently in every curve and collect items to gain speed. Jumps and tackles give extra points. Contributes very little to the genre, because it is still yet another reinterpretation of Out Run, but the result is very acceptable and the use of the accelerometer is quite smooth.

Raging Thunder 2 Lite is the demo of Raging Thunder 2. It contains just one car, just one level and just one gamemode. As always, you have to upgrade to the complete version to enjoy everything else.

Multiplayer game requires signing up to create a network user account. In addition, there's an achievement system to keep track of all our feats such as the longest jump, top speed reached and so on. Almost all settings can be redefined. But the most interesting features are some small details like the sparks when scrapping fences or the shortcuts in key locations in the circuit.

The Polarbit's recipe hasn't changed at all since its beginnings: colorful graphics and great gameplay, and Raging Thunder 2 clearly surpasses its predecessor.

Graphically the game is nice - I mean, I am playing it on a four inch screen, it doesn't need to look like Forza or anything - and the gameplay is solid and smooth both with accelerometer controls and touchscreen. Not too shabby for a mobile racer.
