Reckless Racing looks like just another simple, run-of-the-mill racing game. Well, in fact it is, but what’s striking is that it’s actually a super-tricky and touchy game. Let me explain. This game's about driving a beat-up car using the phone's accelerometer. You know how it goes: you have to try to do faster laps every time without falling into a lake or driving off a cliff.
The graphics are really very nice, as is the music (a silly canned banjo melody), but the best thing is the gameplay. The car skids and slides at every curve so you have to drive with great precision. That's the most addictive factor; you need to spend an hour or so to master the driving, but once you achieve it, it’ll be difficult to separate you from your phone.
There are two difficulty settings: beginner and advanced. Reckless Racing has all the settings you’d expect. It features three single player game modes and a fully stocked online multiplayer versus-mode, allowing you to face-off against players from all over the world. No matter how much fun outrunning the AI might be, nothing beats leaving a human opponent behind in a cloud of dust and dirt.
Polarbit is a developer that specializes in fun and graphically advanced sport games. This game proves it.
