if there are soccer games only to kick free kicks, and combat games only to shoot at training dummies, why not a landing simulator?
This game allows us to put into a pilot's skin in an emergency landing, in his mission to save the more passengers the better. This game is so great that you get a passenger report with the amount of passengers who have been injured in the landing (and death toll, if necessary) or ditching. You can feel like those old films where the pilot died and a young yet brave passenger had to take over the plane and save the day. Of course, you'll start piloting a small plane to land on an airport, which is quite safe. However, soon you'll get used to the thrilling of landing in the far worse conditions: night, fog, sea. There's even a mission to land a jumbo on a highway, while managing flaps and landing wheels and screaming passengers. OK, no screaming passengers, but they should scream for god's sake, and that's the only flaw we've found: with a so awesome and thrilling gameplay the game makes little if any use of it: any brief cutscene or emotional moment (a hostess kiss, a mother praying, an exec drinking, ambulances and fire trucks rushing) would give this game a five stars rating, because it feels too cold when you have achieved the landing of the century and you only get a plain image of a hostess saying "congratulations". As there's no harm in asking, may we dream of Die Hard 2 final scene?
Controls are as easy as tilt to gain or lose height, roll left or rightwards to steer and swipe to accelerate or brake. Put your headphones on, because radio communications are part of the enjoyment.
