Since some time ago, it seems that all football games must follow a few and immovable key rules: they have to be played upwards, they have to be extremely realistic and need hundreds of Mb of free storage. Fortunately, Big Win is seen from a side (as if you were public and not a goal); it's playful and enjoyable without having to argue with the ref; and it weighs 30 Mb.
On the other hand, it isn't a typical football game. Hothead Games, the same who brought us the acclaimed R.A.W., has made of this game a mix of strategy and card game, included in its "Big Win" series which includes other popular team sports in the US.
In case it wasn't clear enough, by "card game" we mean "collectible card game" or CCG. This game is free to play, but you won't get much far unless you pay a visit to the cashier and purchase booster packs and get new trading cards (they aren't called trading cards anymore, but I'm sure you get the picture)
Anyway, if you're into it, here's a new and innovating way to play sports game, and don't think it isn't thrilling: you'll suffer from nerves as if you had bet your house on the Super Bowl. And it's online, so there will be someone like you at the other end of the line (quite literally)
