Plekos is an Android take on the popular coin soccer board game
I have to admit that I've never seen this style of coin soccer game. I used to play crown caps soccer which consists of flicking bottle caps representing soccer players in other to push a ball towards opponent's goal. Well, Plekos works otherwise: players are pins stuck on a wooden board and you cannot move them. What you actually move is the ball (a coin or bottle cap) avoiding it to hit the pins on its way to the goal.
Thus, gameplay is original or that seems to me (no other similar game reviewed yet). You can select goals to win, players to play against (2 is a quick match, more than 2 will generate a tournament) and allowed touches in each turned (three by default). From settings you can adjust sound effects, music and sensibility.
Unfortunately, that's all. Game concept is good: some features are missing though. For instance, a 2 players hot-seat game mode, online mode, online leaderboards and customized teams. I encourage developers to work on this features and its playability will be significantly enhanced.
The game has been carefully crafted with a lot of attention to detail. Gameplay is simple and intuitive, yet very realistic. In the offline Cup mode for up to eight players, you can get together with your friends and the game will automatically set up the Cup table. Everyone is called to play at the right moment, and the competition kicks off!
You can also choose how many touches per turn and the number of goals scored to win.
