If you played Anomaly Warzone Earth when it was launched, this review is unnecessary: it comes to be the same game with better graphics, better gameplay, better sound and better everything.
Otherwise, if you weren't lucky enough at the time and want to start by Korea instead of Irak (where first AWE was located), this is what you'll get: an inverse tower-defense game. Amongst beautiful and zoom-in-able 3D scenery and accompanied by nice radio-like voice acting you will have to plan a route for your convoy to reach checkpoints, get resources and arrive to the goal. Oh, and destroy as many alien machines as you can by the way. Alternative routes, skills, upgrades and convoy formations can, should, must be changed on the go to adapt your squad to new circumstances in a thrilling gameplay far beyond the "sit and watch" usual in defense games. Everything red-laced packed in a game with three difficulty settings, two game modes (history and "art of war" which is somehow a list of challenges) and zero in-app purchases. It works on Android 2.2 or higher and occupies roughly 300 Mb.
We know there isn't any lite, trial or free version of AK, but we are sure this is one of the games absolutely worth their price. Five out of five and bets are open to guess where the third chapter of this saga will take place. Barcelona? Tijuana? Dakar? May we ask for a level editor then? Will we be able to play on the alien side once?
