Gameloft has merged two genres to create a new an addictive title. Kingdoms & Lords features classic strategy games features: building, cultivating, hiring and training units and turning a village into a prosper city; with simulation games: real turn-based battles, city management including diplomacy and citizens welfare.
Actually, this is like a mix of Heroes of Might & Magic and Caesar, specially developed for being played on mobile devices. In fact, this add two main features: intuitive tap controls and social playing. You can challenge your friends to join the game and launch your troops against them. If you're more into the collaborative mood, you can also forge alliances, rescue friendly units and even send them gifts. Actually, you can visit their cities and help them to build and grow them.
Comprehensive city management: production, army, citizens welfare, taxes, trade are just pieces of the prosperity puzzle. Try to match them and you'll be a real Kingdom.
Kingdoms & Lords is set in cute 3D graphics with a humor touch. Sound is great, control intuitiveness. We had no issues with screentouch response. The only catch is that there aren't camera options and both font, units and buildings are too small. I think I'll need a vision test after playing K&L. Despite of this the game pace is great, its tutorial makes the difference and its push notifications will be keep you up-to-date about what's happening on your village. Highly recommendable.
