Straight to the point: Toy Defense may not be the most spectacular, strategic and outstanding tower-defense game out there, but it may be one of the best -if not the best- games to initiate yourself in this genre. Graphics are adequate and though array of upgradeable tower-troops and skill trees may not be enough, level design is great and, overall, gameplay experience is outstanding. Sounds deserve to be heard, at least the first times you play.
As flaws, there aren't too many different enemies and it doesn't bring anything new to the genre, feeling as it is a good game arriving late too to the tower-defense party. Of course, staunch gamers will have nothing to reproach Melesta games for that, but others may feel that screen-wiping "magic" and self-healing towers aren't such a novelty. Perhaps we should remark that you can save your best towers for subsequent stages indeed.
That's it. A nice tower defense game that can be played for free quite a while. Go ahead. This free version comes with the whole first world and half a dozen levels from the second and the third, plus all the special Christmas themed levels.
