Pro version includes extra features: Sound level with VU meter, change audio input source, resume recording any supported wave file... and many others (check developer's description below).
It's true that some devices (or even custom ROMs) come without audio recorder app. Some others bring a too poor voice recorder regarding options, formats and sound quality. If that's your case, Easy Voice Recorder is what you need.
Well, it doesn't bring thousands of options though: its added-value lies on simplicity. Easy Voice Recorder supports MP4 (Gingerbread 2.3.3 or higher) AAC, 3GP (using aAMR) and even WAVE files. You can choose output format with clear tags (Space saver: AMR, Good Quality: AAC, Highest Quality: PCM) and sample rates. You can also set name or use a default prefix for all your records (like a tag).
Easy Voice Recorder comes with a a stock player. However, you can enable "Use external player" when opening clips.
Finally, it includes 3 size widgets (2x1, 3x1, 4x1) for a quick access to recording and playing features. Useful

Troubleshooting
Easy Voice Recorder is not intended to be used as a phone call recorder. Easy Voice Recorder may also not be compatible with all devices and all configurations, and the quality of any recording will always be limited by the quality of the device's microphone. Please test using the free version before upgrading to pro.

If the app force-closes after an install or upgrade, your firmware may have corrupted the install. Please uninstall and reinstall if this happens.

Prevent phone from sleeping - Allow recordings to continue even with the screen turned off.
Check license - Verify market license.

What you get your volume an adjustment set It works great Just remember to keep yourself about 6to8 inches away at least from the mic

On the Pro version, can I to go back to a former recording and add additional recording on to that same file, without creating a new and separate file, which is automatic on the free version?

I am satisfied with this app which allows for smaller size files to email. Too bad it doesn't pause when recording!
