"Let ring only the chorus!"

Reviewed by / May 10, 2011

Ringdroid is a music editor created back at 2008.

You can cut just the part you like from a song or sound and use it as a ringtone or alarm; or record directly your voice or surroundings.

It could have more options, who knows, scratching or something like that, but we think that’s there is no need.

It’s extremely easy to use and very fast. You just tap the app icon and immediately you have all your music list ready to edit.

It’s absolutely free and it runs on every Android Phone we know. Highly recommended.

Developer's original description available here
The original open-source ringtone editor for Android, first published in 2008 and downloaded by millions of users worldwide.

Ringdroid lets you create personal ringtones, alarms, and notification sounds from existing music/audio files and record new ones using your Android device.

This app is the only 'official' distribution of the Ringdroid open-source project; it does not, and never will, contain ads.

Google Play Store automatically presents the correct Ringdroid update to install with your Android system:

Ringdroid 2.7.2 is recommended for Android system versions 4.1 ('Jelly Bean') and higher. It includes the ability to read OGG Vorbis audio files, and it saves ringtones in AAC (.m4a) format.

Ringdroid 2.6 is recommended for Android system versions 3.0 ('Honeycomb') through 4.0.3 ('Ice Cream Sandwich'). It includes user interface features such as 'pinch-to-zoom'.

Ringdroid 2.5 continues to be recommended for earlier Android system versions.

Note: this app requests access to your contacts, but solely for the purpose of setting contact-specific ringtones. Source code is available at ringdroid.com.

Recently changed in this version

NEW: supports Android system 5.x ('Lollipop')!

Ringdroid 2.7.2 is recommended for Android system versions 4.1 ('Jelly Bean') and higher. It includes the ability to read OGG Vorbis audio files; additionally, it saves ringtones in AAC (.m4a) format and removes the 'full network communication' permission.

I've used this app for several years and really enjoyed it. A few months back I went to use it again and it wouldn't work, so I went on the search for a new app. Wow, lots of apps but so full of ads between every single step plus they were 5 to 10 times larger using phone memory. Once they updated this app and got it working again I dumped the others with great joy.

Love the app and the edit features but it won't let me use the sounds that I save as notifications
