GloveBox is a Ubuntu-style handy side-dock that allow users to quick launch favorite apps.
Ubuntu Touch is almost ready to officially hit some mobile devices. However, if you are Canonical's most-known product fan and want to make your Android look like Ubuntu Touch, you can start with Glovebox: a side-dock which is a replica of Ubuntu Touch and desktop application launcher.
What I liked most of Glovebox is that's highly configurable. You can add up to 8 applications to the dock (more can be added after upgrading to its premium version) and sort them at your whim. In addition, margins to make it show can be adjust as well as vibrate on touch, enable it in landscape mode, add transition effect, sensibility levels, bar opacity and icon on notifications. Actually, it comes with 5 different themes including classic Ubuntu (icon pack not supported yet).
Glovebox brings to Android its multi-tasking philosophy.
Swipe without lifting the finger to select an application to open.
- Apps/Shortcuts/Widgets on the side bar;
- Pin recent task's (Automatically show running apps);
- Visible/Invisible trigger;
- Floating widgets;
- Unread counts (Calls,Sms, Gmail)
- Icon pack support (Apex & Nova);
- Reorder apps.
- Personalize the side bar & icons.
- Long press an app on the bar to open a quick settings menu.
- Blacklist (apps that will pause Glovebox).
XDA Developers Thread:
-How to enable Glovebox on MIUIv5?
Go to the app info and enable 'Show popup window notification' setting. Then restart the app.
-I bought the premium version, now is asking to purchase it again (using the same account). How to solve this problem?
Try to clear the cache and data of Play Store, then start Play Store at least once.
Android Settings>Apps>Play Store app>Clear Cache/Data.
If this didn't work contact by email.
-Why does the app need DIRECTLY CALL PHONE NUMBERS permission?
This permission is only necessary for Direct Dial shortcuts that might be added to the apps list.

-default open in halo -long press open full app both flotification and switchr work well with the xposed halo module. it would be great if this app did too
Before the update it worked perfectly but since the update it never stays open and it sucks because I've gotten really use to using it but now I gotta open glovebox app to make it appear so I mine as well just click on the app in my menu Very disappointe
Everyone should try this app Best way to do multitasking
It's not perfect, but the UI is clean and plenty features for free. So I'm happy with it, hopefully dev can continue its performance and stabilization.
Installed on both Nexus 4 and 7 without any problems. Great for fast access to your favourite icons other than those icons on your Home screen and of course they are available from any screen.
Wow, I have tried all of the popular side launchers and glovebox is easily the best. I know its a leap of faith but you have to buy the upgrade to really see what you can do with it. Configuration is easy to play around with and it does support custom ico
I'm a minimalist when it comes to icons. Keeps my phone clean, but I still have access to everything I need.
