Born in 1941 in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, Jagjit Singh gained acclaim together with his wife, another well-known ghazal singer Chitra Singh. With a career spanning over 50 years and a repertoire comprising 80 albums, the ghazal singer has sung in many languages. He did a phenomenal job to transform the form of 'ghazal' which was previously limited to only Urdu poetry and made it more accessible to common man while keeping the dignity of the original 'ghazal'. The magical serenity in his voice was just perfect for the kind of music he was evolving with. Jagjjit Singh has also sung for many popular movies like Arth, Prem Geet, Sarfarosh and Tarqeeb. He was awarded India's third highest civilian honor, the Padma Bhushan, in 2003. This app is humble effort to bring all his presence on the cloud at one place and present it to his fans.
