Retro Clock Widget is a home screen clock and calendar widget based on the classic mechanical flipping clock.
Take in account that this isn't an app, so you won't find it into the app drawer. To open it you have to long-press on the screen and then select it from the widgets list.
Great widget inspired in the mechanical flipping office clock that you've seen thousand of times in the 50's movies. It shows time and date in the calendar. You can choose among different sizes and ways to display it (horizontally or vertically). What's more, they work as shortcut to Alarm and Calendar. Great clock widget.
Retro Clock Widget has been developed by jSource, an emerging developer who has just launched a few apps on market, but who's on the right track with apps like this one.
Retro Clock Widget was one of the first clock widgets available for android and has been downloaded by millions of users over the years. Version 2.0 brings many improvements, while keeping the simplicity that made it famous.
This app provides a home screen clock and date widget based on the classical mechanical flipping clock. The widgets act as shortcuts to the systems alarm clock and calendar applications.
When you want to customize the look and feel (like the colors, transparency, or shortcut applications), you can do so using the Retro Clock Settings companion app also available on Google Play.
To use the widget on Android 4.0+:
- open the app drawer
- tap the "Widgets" tab
- find Retro Clock / Date and drag it to the home screen
To use the widget on older versions of android:
- long press an empty spot on the home screen
- select "Widgets"
- tap on Retro Clock / Date to add it to the home screen
NOTE: If you are using a Task Manager, make sure to add Retro Clock Widget to the ignore list. When the app is killed, the time will stop updating.
- fixed shortcuts for certain Lenovo devices
It's good! Basic but good.
U can use both the date and time in one widjet or use them both in their own widgets.
Looks cool. As simple as a clock can be. With the necessary functionality (alarm). Doesn't seem to be using a lot of battery either.
I love it.
