f(x) is a five member South Korean girl group formed by SM Entertainment in 2009. The name is a play on the mathematical notation for function, and when input with different 'x', there can be many different outcomes. The f stands for flower and the x represents the female's double x chromosome. f(x) strives to be the kind of girl group that can change and adapt to many situations. The group members have also been nicknamed "function girls". The group made their debut on September 1, 2009 with release of a digital single "La Cha Ta". The quintet consists of Victoria, Amber, Luna, Sulli and Krystal.
Krystal Jung was first spotted by SM Entertainment in 2000 on a family visit to Korea, which earned her a small role in a short segment of Shinhwa's "Wedding March" music video. Sulli Choi first debuted as a child actress in 2005 when she was selected to play young Princess Sun-hwa in the SBS television drama, The Ballad of Seo-dong. In 2006, SM Entertainment recruited Luna after seeing her performing on SBS's television program, "Truth Game". Victoria was spotted by a S.M. Entertainment's agent at a Beijing dance competition, and later joined the company. Two months later, Amber was cast through SM's Global Auditions in Los Angeles, California, where she was one of two people (one male) selected to be trainees.
On August 9, 2011 SHINee, Girls' Generation and f(x) took part in an effort to help African children. The groups were joined by United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Ban Kimoon in the ‘Help African Children’ project co-organized by the Korean Red Cross Society and the Korean UNICEF committee.
If you’re not sure what live wallpapers are, they're a type of application that works on a mobile device using the Android operating system (like your device!). The application works as a wallpaper – providing the background image for the home screen—but also works as a conventional application since it can provide user-interaction with the touch screen (allowing the image to change dynamically, for example) and access other hardware and software features within the device (accelerometer, GPS, network access, etc.).
**Multiple backgrounds!** Switch up the background as often or as little as you like with user-configurable options.
**Power saving features!** This app uses much less power than typical live wallpapers. It will take a bit more power to operate than a normal wallpaper, but much, much less battery power than the average live wallpaper.
**Super easy to use!** Upon install the app will bring up the options menu and then immediately let you set the wallpaper. No hassle and easy to use!
**Translated to 35 languages!** Do you really, really want to learn Russian? We didn’t think so, but it’s available just in case, in any language your phone can display!
Please note that live wallpapers can’t be set automatically. We’ll bring you to the setup screen where you’ll select the live wallpaper. We’d love to do it automatically but Android doesn’t allow it. Maybe some day.
