Google Earth 7.1 For Android Gets Street View And Several New Features

Google Earth's desktop version got recently updated introducing Leap Motion along with enhanced starfield and other improvements. A few hours ago, Google updated Google Earth Android app to its 7.1 version too, introducing some new features, most noteworthy's Street View support.

A double tap, a simply gesture that from now on, enables users to travel down from the space to their neighborhood. Drag and drop the Pegman - the yellow guy that indicates that Street View is available in that specific zone - to explore the area from the street level. Street View is one of the greatest services powered by Google and it feels like a wise choice integrating it into all its location-based apps.

Interface has also been tweaked and enhanced specially thanks to its new layers that make navigation more intuitive. By clicking on the Earth logo in the top left corner users can enable layers like Panoramio Photos, 3D buildings and Wikipedia. Finally, this update comes with improved search and directions: now, four types of directions (walking, driving, biking and transit) can be visualized in 3D while getting updated location suggestions.
