GIG Car Share lets you use a car, granted you’re in a supported city

    • Pleasant, clean, and polished intuitive UI
    • May rival Uber
    • Doesn't support a lot of cities
    • Confusing and unclear pricing
    • Costly

    "Use a car"

Looking to get a nearby car? Say hello to GIG Car Share. Available for the Android and iOS, GIG Car Share lets you find nearby cars that are available for you to use, granted you’re in a supporting city. To get started, simply enable your GPS. In supported cities, GIG will locate nearby cars for you to use. Don’t worry about having enough gas or insurance, as GIG promises to take care of the logistics. Simply book your car, pay up per mile and minute parked, and start using it for as long as you’d like.

Don’t expect to have a difficult time getting up and running with GIG, as it sports a solid user interface that’s quite easy to use in a cinch, even rivaling Uber.

Don’t expect this app to support a lot of cities yet as it only brings support for Oakland and Berkeley, so there’s not much really that you can do here, other than wait. Also, expect a very confusing service in regards to its exact pricing and costly if you park.

Gig is a one-way car share app. It’s simple: Use the app to find a Gig near you, drive it anywhere, and end your rental just about anywhere in the Oakland and Berkeley HomeZone*.

Gig is wheels for whatever, whenever. With Gig, you can do All the Things!

    • Get in and go – fast, free signup, simple registration, and on-demand access to cars.
    • No membership fee – only pay for what you use.
    • One-way trips – take a Gig from one place and drop it off in another.
    • Flexible – use a car for as long or as little as you like.
    • No surge pricing – rates by mile, hour, or day. We’ll automatically charge whatever is lowest.
•The whole package – parking in the HomeZone*, gas, insurance**, and roadside assistance included.
    • Bring your bike – every Gig is a Toyota Prius C Hybrid with a bike rack.

    Drive more. Enjoy more.

Get the app, find a car, get in, and go.

Interesting car rental model. The best part is that you can park the car anywhere in the Berkeley/Oakland home area and don't have to return it where you got it from. Great for short one way trips around town without commitment for the car.

Used Gig to pick up my mom from the Oakland Airport, then used it to move her, her cat, and a ton of boxes up to Chico. The daily rate of $85 was perfect, and it was incredibly easy to get in touch with customer service when it was time to fuel up. App was only glitchy when I was in a poor service area, all other times it worked great! Overall, Gig is a way better deal than any other rental place, and the only downside for long trips is bringing the car back to the Bay Area.

It wont stop start downloading on its own . make it STOP. You should not have an app that forces itself on someone.
