If you already own or are planning on installing a Koi pond, then this application should be of interest to you.
Here is a selection of five articles that the developer wrote and had published in KOI magazine, a British publication. Some of the articles take the form of an interview with an important figure in this field.
One of the stories is a first hand account of the work being done in the field of koi diseases, specifically, KIV (Koi Herpes Virus). Another article introduces you to Barbara Johnson (AKA “The Fish Lady”) who owns and operates a service for the maintenance of koi ponds. Some of her clients are well-known Hollywood celebrities, hence the title, “Star Fish”. She expounds on procedures for maintaining a healthy environment for your fish.
A personal experience in designing and building a miniature koi pond is described in “A Fishy Tale”. Many years later this diminutive body of water still hosts a small number of colorful fish.
"Eyes on the Prize" is a review of the numerous surveillance cameras that are available from a number of manufacturers. Whether hard-wired, wireless or Internet connected, the various features of each are discussed. Keeping an eye on your pond is both entertaining and might give warning of the proximity of predators.
Burt Ballou is the original creator of the judging program of the Associated Koi Clubs of America and a pre-eminent figure in the hobby. This article spotlights his vast accumulation of Koi pins and the manner in which he obtained and displays them.
