    The keto diet (also known as a ketogenic diet, low carb diet and LCHF diet) is a low carbohydrate, high-fat diet. Maintaining a low carb diet is great for weight loss. Moreover, according to an increasing number of studies, it helps reduce risk factors for diabetes, heart diseases, stroke, Alzheimer’s, epilepsy, and more!


    We’re starting to understand that carbs in large quantities are much more harmful than previously thought, while most fats are healthy and essential (the basis of a low carb diet).

    When you eat lots of carbs, your blood sugar is consistently elevated and, as a result, so is insulin. Insulin is a hormone that keeps your blood sugar in check by shuttling the glucose into cells, but when there’s a consistently high amount of insulin, your cells become resistant.

    This insulin resistance makes it easier to store fat, and chronically high levels of insulin also cause excessive inflammation in the body, which contributes to heart disease, high blood pressure and eventually type 2 diabetes.

    It is definitely not intuitive. I want something that will work on my phone. I want to quickly meal plan WITHOUT having to buy additional subscriptions. It's ridiculous. I purchased it this morning and poked around to see how I would calculate my macros for the day/week and had to purchase a Tasteaholics monthly recipe subscription to get to it. Unacceptable. I want my money back!

    I love this app! It has come in handy for me many times already. Ive really enjoyed some of the recipes I tried so far. I love how the thumbnails have the net Carb values right there so u don't even *have* to click on it to check and you can browse quickly and easily for a recipe with a specific macro count. I have 1 suggestion for the developers for the future maybe. It might be cool if there was a feature where app users could fill out some sort of prefabbed form with their own recipes. And theyd be in a separate section of course bc they'd maybe not be quite as reliable on the macro count stuff. But yeah. A user generated recipe section might be cool :)
