A quick way of accessing your favorite apps when the screen is off

    • Useful
    • Great idea, promising
    • Some bugs

    "Knock, Knock, Mobile!"

Welcome to Kockr, a new application that allows users with OLED screen devices (Samsung Galaxy S5 or Moto X) to use gestures with the screen of.

The possibilities are the following: double tap, swipe left, right, up, down and long press, so be sure to select the triggered actions. Remember that these gestures will only work whenever passcode is turned off.

Although the idea is pretty good and essentially interesting, we have to say that the power button starts to do strange things and it doesn't work well. If this particular bug is fixed, the app could really become quite successful, as it definitely presents a curious functionality that could save battery usage.

Angs Apps is the developer of Knockr, a new and great solution to battery waste, a usable new way of quickly accessing your favorite apps.

Knockr allows users with OLED Screen devices, like the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Moto X, to quickly enter an app with gestures without having to turn the screen on. OLED Screens make this possible because when the pixel is black that pixel is turned off, so when the whole screen is black the screen is turned off.

If your devices doesn't have an OLED screen you can still use Knockr, just set the option 'Lockscreen Only' in the settings and when you turn your device on manually Knockr will be your lockscreen waiting for a gesture.

    Gestures include:
Double Tap, Swipe Up, Swipe Down, Swipe Left, Swipe Right, Long Press, Up Arrow, Double Up Arrow, Down Arrow, Double Down Arrow, Right Arrow, Left Arrow, Clockwise circle, Double Clockwise Circle, Counter-Clockwise Circle, and Double Counter-Clockwise Circle.

Volume Up button when in Landscape: Pressing the volume up button when the device is in Landscape will automatically open the camera

    Known issues:
Power button doesn't turn screen on as expected.
Lockscreen Background doesn't show correctly when using the Google Now Launcher (Lockscreen Only Mode)
