All lawyers and contract managers dealing with commercial contracts, whether they relate to IT, outsourcing, logistics or a myriad of other goods or services, will come up against common legal and commercial issues. For example, for English lawyers hardly a negotiation goes by without a debate over the difference between “reasonable endeavours” and “best endeavours”. You may not have time to take advice, but need something to jog your memory.
That is why we have produced a set of handy guides to what these concepts mean in practice, summarising the law (in England) relating to them as it stands at the moment. Originally launched in hardcopy, these brief guides have been updated and are now easy to download onto a suitable mobile device.
Put simply, these succinct guides are enough to act as reminder, or crib sheet, in a taxi on the way to a meeting - hence the name "Cab Cribs" ! Whilst they aren’t a substitute for detailed advice or in-depth legal analysis, we hope they will show that you have grasped a concept well, or perhaps prompt you to look more closely at the point in issue when you have more time.
Updates and new additions to the Cab Crib series will be published from time to time.
Use of the Cab Cribs is subject to acceptance of the terms of our disclaimer, which is contained in the Cab Cribs App.
