    "Ham Radio Operation Turns Digital"

EchoLink for Android gives amateur ham radio operators the ability to connect up with any Echo Link enabled repeater, no matter where in the world they are. This is a great way for ham operators to keep in touch with each other the world over.

Now you can listen over your Bluetooth connection! The app works great on tablets. The color scheme is easy on the eyes and most of the menu functions are easily discovered and utilized. It's got great TX and RX radio quality sound.

It would be nice if the user could make the direct connect button the PTT button. The handset/headset, speaker, or Bluetooth options shouldn't be on a pop-up menu. They are used quite a bit and should be easier to find. Where is the exit/close button?

Must connect through WiFi connection. Verizon will not permit it to connect through regular cell phone data. Works perfectly through WiFi.

Bordering on useless. Infuriatingly poor interface & does not reconnect if network connection lost, yet "logged in" notification remains. Have to close app & restart to reconnect. You could think you're connected so friends can call, only to find you have been disconnected for hours. Very disappointing. Support do not answer email. And as for the comment that problems are "obviously operator error", that is condescending claptrap.

For licensed amateurs only which is good. If you want to check out the Hobby and you don't have a license or equipment then check out Hamsphere 4. Which also has a added feature of HF based on real propagation data.
