    Quotes Widget's review

Quotes Widget is a nice widget to have on your desktop. A tap, a quote.

    • Character and quote choice
    • Desktop use and UI
    • Fast and easy updating.
    • Some spelling mistakes

"Maybe the best quotes widget so far"

Quotes Widget may not be as original as its developer proclaims, but it certainly has some virtues that make it interesting.

This is how it works: Quotes Widget occupies only a quarter of a desktop, so it's smaller than the average weather widget, for example. Once you’ve installed it, select which characters you want to download. There’s a wide range to choose from. Don't expect quotes by Machiavelli or Plato; all selected quotes are from funny and well-known fictional characters (and Einstein and Nietzsche… who knows why). Examples include ALF, Garfield, Hank Moody (Californication) and more.

You can have more than one character downloaded at once, so the quotes you get will be mixed up. This is a good option because it means you don’t have to keep installing and uninstalling characters, and adding new characters is really very fast.

The quotes are randomly shown each time we tap, so the result is unpredictable. But whatever happens, they’re sure to raise a smile, maybe even a laugh. Characters can be downloaded in English or Spanish.

Character list and quotes are uploaded periodically. Quotes Widget is absolutely free. There are just a few non-intrusive ads on the share and download screen. Sharing is as easy as tapping on the desired quote, then selecting the network you prefer. You can share your favorite quotes on Facebook, Twitter and all the other standard social networks. Finally, there's an online "quote creation center" that allows to create your own characters and share them with other users, making this app worthy of the highest score.

Its easiness is its main strength. To quote Quotes Widget:

“Any fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius-and a lot of courage-to move in the opposite direction.” A. Einstein

Android Version 2.1 or higher is needed, but that shouldn't be a problem for anyone nowadays.
