    Description

Find out the proper speed limit for your local roads, or wherever you visit, with Speed Limit, the fun Android app from wikiSPEEDia.org.

Unlike all other speed-apps, this one knows the speed limit.

WikiSPEEDia, the world speed limit database, gathers the GPS coordinates of every speed-limit sign found by users all over the world. Speed Limit contains 27,000,000 speed limits from their open-source, constantly checked and edited database, including back roads missing from standard GPS systems.

Edit your own records if you find a sign which needs correction. Pay attention to Granny, who will let you know if you're exceeding the speed limit--and won't stop nagging you until you slow down (or turn off her taunts in the app's settings). Cast a quick glance at the posted speed as you drive; if the number turns red, please slow down.

Rally your local car club, Girl Scout Troop, School Fundraiser group to log speed limits in your area. Its easy and fun. All submissions are audited nightly. Search for wikiSPEEDia on the web to see how a group of Lego US-First kids logged 500 speed limits from their houses! All signs contributed are copyrighted with your name, owned by you forever.

    ------Product Features---------

Features a constantly expanding worldwide speed limit database.
Offers editable speed limit entries in case your local information changes.
Provides an entertaining--or annoying--companion who lets you know if you're going too fast.

    ----Usage-----------

    5. Change to Analog/Steampunk mode in SETTINGS.

To save precious battery, the app will turn off after 1 minute of not-moving.

Analog/Digital Mode: There are two apps, in the companion app called SETTINGS, you can change from Analog to Digital.

Analog Mode: Steampunk mode. Shows three needles.

Purple is distance to next sign behind you.
Odometer can be set in Companion app called SETTINGS.

Great idea hindered by poor UI. The concept itself is great: an application that quickly provides the speed limit for the road you are currently on. In this aspect, the application functions well. It was able to accurately download the speed limits for the roads I drove on. The setup was overly complicated due to the app installing 3 separate parts: a widget, a settings app, and another app whose

Shows me my speed only but not what the speed limit is, maybe it doesn't work in Australia.

Just trying it. Gave correct posted limit for a few local roads. Once I figured out how to work it as a widget instead of working it from its icon on my home screen. Seems not to update my current speed very well.
