    It's been demonstrated time and again that the best strategy for getting in shape is to keep track of the relationship between your diet, exercise, and results over time. Lose It! is a popular nutrition app that will help you keep yourself honest about your fitness progress, allowing you to keep data on your daily eating and activity level habits.

    Each day you'll select what you've eaten from the enormous database of foods, including both generic and name-brand products, and Lose It! will calculate both your calorie intake and macronutrient ratios. Do the same with your exercise, indicating type of activity, intensity, and duration, and those calories burned will be automatically subtracted from your daily total. Your target caloric intake will depend on your personal goal - how much weight do you want to lose, and how quickly?

    The visuals incorporated into the Lose It! app are appealing - many of the food choices have cute icons, making it more fun to use than other more minimalist apps designed to record information. There's also automatic syncing with your account on the Lose It! website, allowing you to connect with other users and offer support and encouragement.

    One big drawback if you're an international user is the lack of a metric system option, which explains why this app is more popular in the United States than elsewhere. If you're comfortable with the Imperial measurement system and looking for a way to start tracking your diet and fitness, Lose It! is a good choice to help you reach your weight loss goals.

    It's easy, quick, and convenient. Everything is easy to find, and the database is extensive. I haven't searched for an item yet that hasn't been found! Already lost some weight with this accurate tracker :)

    Great for tracking what you eat. Lots of options! Love it! Also was easy to connect with my Google fit app to track any exercise

    Easy to use. Makes tracking my calories (OR pre-planning to make choices) so easy. Love that I can also track my BP and my steps or exercise using my Fitbit!
