Runtastic does a great job of tracking your everyday steps while running in the background

    • Intuitive and minimalist UI
    • Battery saver mode
    • Accuracy issues

"Keep count of your normal steps"

Human beings walk a lot. Even with all our technological advancements, you’d be amazed to see how many steps you take in your everyday life. Runtastic Pedometer Step Count keeps track of your daily steps. All you need to do is turn on the app, stuff your phone in your pocket or purse, and Runtastic takes care of the rest. Once you stop, you can load up the app and track your results. This app also lets you add how you felt during your walk, what kind of surface you were walking on, and more.

Runtastic features a wonderfully minimalistic and intuitive interface that makes this app easy to turn on and use. There’s also a battery-saver mode so you don’t have to worry about burning through your battery.

For all of its benefits, like a great UI, Runtastic does sometimes have issues keeping an accurate track of your distance.

Great idea poorly executed. I have a smartwatch, why the heck would I carry my phone with me around the office to get steps. Doesn't sync with Samsung Health to accurately reflect steps.

Couldn't ever try it. It requires constant access to Internet. Not for running/walking out of range. Only for city dwellers with unlimited data plan.
