    NAVIGON USA's review

Fully offline turn-by-turn navigational system, designed to be used in the car

    "For those who miss TomTom"

Navigon is a turn-by-turn navigational system, similar to Google Maps. It's unique in that it's a "real" GPS app - instead of accessing the maps over 3G like Google Maps, you anticipate where you're going in advance and download the detailed map of that area. That way, even if you drop off the grid, the app keeps directing you like nothing's happened.

The interface is solid, and the voice prompts are loud enough to be heard over mild car noise.

However, I'd only recommend purchasing this rather expensive app if you plan on spending quite a lot of time driving somewhere with no signal. Getting access to live traffic updates isn't free (it's included in Google Maps, plus other comparable navigational systems), and you'll also have to pay to re-download maps when they're updated. Honestly, it's a decent enough navigational system, but the price of Navigon feels really out of line with where free technology is these days.

It was difficult to use. Streets weren't labeled. Didn't look good on my double din car stereo. I hope I can get a refund.

Used to work on my HTC one and then on my Lg G4 but I upgraded to the Lg G5 and now it doesn't work. It's supposed to work without any network connection but every time I open it I get a message saying it needs to connect to a WiFi network so it can download files. There's no way to cancel and continue with the current information. This is a pain in the ass when out on the highway and you are not getting any cell signal or a weak signal but either way no WiFi is available.

Use to be the best nav app hands down. I have purchased for Android and iOS. Latest update is stuck on map manager keeps wanting to re-download maps. I emailed tech support no help "they only support mobile devices" I have an Android radio. That's funny the previous Navigon versions and every other nav app on the Playstore works just fine. Other reviews on here have same issue.

I have been using the iPhone app for years and love it. I recently bought an 8" Android tablet and couldn't wait to use navagon on an 8" screen. I was disappointed to find that many of the features I often used with the iPhone app were missing from the Android app. And most of all there was no in app control for the volume. With the volume turned all the way up on the tablet navagon can barely be heard. Come on navagon what's up? Fix this lackluster Android app. Especially the volume problem. This Android app just isn't on par with the iPhone app. Why not??????????
