This app demonstrates some features of my Android port of libmodplug to add "tracker" music support to your apps & games. Android doesn't natively support tracker music - that is until now with AndModPlug!
*NOTE THAT* it is NOT a general purpose MOD/XM player - there are already great apps for that on the Android Market. See Droidsound, XMP for Android, Amiga MOD Player and many more if you're not a developer and you're looking for a MOD tracker music player.
INSTEAD, this demo app is intended for developers who would like to add tracker music to their apps in order to take advantage of the tempo-changing, pattern-jumping tricks they can do, or to reduce the size of their soundtrack assets by a factor of 10 or even 100! Or just because you love tracker music!
AndModPlug is pretty cool and it's free! Donations are welcome, as are mentions in your app credits. :)
The AndModPlug Demos app is a collaboration between Peculiar-Games.com and IndieGameMusic.com.
BTW, I have three games out on the Android Market that use AndModPlug for the soundtracks. Be sure to check them out with the "More from developer" link!
The little character with green cap is modified from Daniel Cook's free prototyping graphics package "Planet Cute" - many thanks to him for his generosity!
