    Vignette • Photo effects's review

    High quality filters and frames.

    • Soft focus option
    • Weird UI

"The photo editor that artists use"

It's increasingly difficult to pick just one photo editing application. Of course, we have three or four favorites and Vignette may indeed be one of them. It has not only a lot of frames, but also a lot of effects. Its star option is called 'soft focus': it focuses the vanishing point while blurring the rest, obtaining rather acceptable artistic results.

There are also the tilt-shift and lomo filters; the polaroid frames and the vintage styles. Well, as you can see, it does everything it should. Don't forget that Vignette is one of the most downloaded photo editing tools so it must have something special to deserve such honor.

This demo only allows small (0.3 Mp) pictures, so the pictures you edit would be just nice to share. If you need larger formats, you have to upgrade to the paid version. The user interface is somewhat clumsy: when you select an option there isn't any confirmation and you have to get back to check the changes you have just made.

Vignette is a full-featured camera application, with...

    Hundreds of filters and frames
Instant camera, LOMO, Diana and Holga styles; Ilford, Portra, Velvia, Ektachrome and Tri-X film emulations; vintage and retro filters like sepia, platinotype, and faded photo effects; plus blur effects like tilt-shift, soft-focus, HDR, and the Orton effect, and lots more.

    Full resolution
Apply effects without losing any resolution. If your camera takes 21-megapixel pictures, Vignette produces 21-megapixel pictures. And you can import pictures and apply effects to them, without scaling them down.

    Shooting modes
Self-timer, time-lapse and steady-shot modes, plus 10× digital zoom, and rule-of-thirds and golden ratio composition guides.

Use the volume rocker as a shutter button, to control exposure, or to zoom. Move the icons to the opposite side of the screen if it's more comfortable. Choose where your pictures get saved.

Stamp the time, and/or the date, and/or the location, onto your pictures, in a selection of colours and sizes.

Vignette does not require an internet connection to process pictures, or upload them to an online gallery. Your pictures do not leave your device until you choose to share them.

I've used this for a few years now, and love it! I use it in much of my photography. Unfortunately it has stopped. The message I'm getting is "vignette (ad-supported has stopped") also there are photos stuck in processing?

Between shutter and actually taking the photo it takes quite a while. Don't expect to be fast with this camera. You will definitely miss the moment.

The UX is outdated and clunky. Not to mention, it's incredibly unattractive. It reminds me of some tween's bedroom wall. It's been like this for a couple of years now without any update in sight. -1 stars

I like this camera app, it's much better than the stock one. However, I'd appreciate it if it didn't have ads in it. Even if they show up rarely, it can get annoying.
