CardDAV-Sync is a CardDAV client for Android to synchronize contacts. Due to its implementation as sync adapter it integrates seamlessly with the default contacts app.
    (Also check out CalDAV-Sync)

Important note for Android 4.1 and Samsung users: To prevent the removal of your accounts on reboot install this app:
At present, Samsung users still need this workaround, even on recent devices.

Also note that many Android 4.x and 5.0 devices need the workaround to prevent removal of accounts during an app update.

HTC One users please check out this site first:

If you find a bug send me an email please. Without detailed error description I often can't do anything especially when I can't reproduce it. It's also possible that your server has a bug that CardDAV-Sync can not (yet) tolerate or work around. If you report bugs I can fix them quickly and everyone will benefit.

This is the paid version of CardDAV-Sync. It equals the free version except that it syncs more fields. Visit my website for details.

Please uninstall the free version before you install the paid one (and vice versa).

For users which are unable to edit or create synced contacts I published an editor at the market. Just search for "Contact Editor" or see our website.

Once this app reaches version 1.0, I'll make it open source.
See for details on the open source status.

It is unfortunate that with all the resources Google has at their disposal, they still cannot justify adding support for the vCard Extensions to WebDAV ("CardDAV") Internet Standard... But this is where CardDAV-Sync comes in. Not only does CardDAV-Sync fill an un-necessasary void, but the application looks great and thus far, has worked flawlessly for me. If you're an Android user and you need support for CardDAV, then look no further than CardDAV-Sync!

If you uninstall the app, your phone will lose all contacts, they'll only remain on the account you *thought* were synchronized with Android's Contact thus your Google account. This is not sync!! contacts don't exist in BOTH places, they only *appear* as such so long as the app is installed. That's extremely counter-intuitive. Really not the behavior you'd expect (with real sync, you'd expect contacts to remain "as is" on both sides if you cut the link... Not so with CardDAV). I lost a bunch of contacts because of that, it was a bug due to my mail provider but this CardDAV sync app did not cover me as I thought it would: no real sync. I strongly advise against using it, or know that it's not real sync, your contacts only exist in one place and will be wiped out of your phone if you uninstall this app. Why, I have no idea, but it's the worst behavior for a "sync" app to make you dependent on using said app and said app only to retain the apparent (but not real) sync functionality. I'll move to another solution asap.

Doesn't work with NextCloud 12.0.0 , no support from developer via Twitter. Changed over to DavDroid, what works flawless
