From the Earth to the Moon (in the original French De la Terre à la Lune) is a book by French writer Jules Verne, published in 1865.
It tells the saga of the Gun Club (the Gun Club), an American organization that specializes in firearms, cannons and ballistics in general, and the idea of its members to build a massive cannon to hurl a projectile cylinder-conical shape of the moon
A French adventurer Michel Ardan called in extravagant ways, proposes that the projectile is launched manned and introduced himself as a candidate for "astronaut". After this startling proposal, two members of the "Gun Club" also embark on this "madness". For this development took place, were built a cannon, a hollow bullet, and a telescope, all dimensions unthinkable, the amount of powder used was also volumes unthinkable.
Once fired, the bullet when it approached the moon, rather than land on the moon (land on lunar soil), entered orbit of the moon itself. The three passengers only had supplies for three months, leaving open the saga. The future of three astronauts, is described in the work the wheel of the Moon
