Compass with GPS
by: Nightshade Arts • 13
This is a simple free compass (no nag screens, no adverts, no nothing) with GPS, capable of recording and displaying tracks on Google Maps.
It uses inbuilt magnetometers, accelerometers and GPS on your phone. With no GPS, it just shows a simple bearing, and the needle can be set to point due (magnetic) north all the time, or to show the orientation of the phone relative to north.
With GPS enabled, it will also provide latitude, longitude and altitude, and if moving speed over ground and also bearing or travel.
Tracks can be recorded and overlaid on maps.
NOTE - whilst GPS requires no calibration, like all Android phone magnetic compasses the magnetic bearing requires calibration before use - please see the help information.
