A handy way to test or clear your GPS settings

    • It works
    • Lightweight design
    • Minimal fuss
    • Needs a better instruction set
    • Clunky user interface

    "Fix That Poor Connection"

The funny thing is that you might not even know you need to a GPS test, but if you have location problems with your mobile devices' GPS function, try this app out. Use GPS Test to clear your AGPS data and loosen the screws in your GPS connection.

If you have a poor GPS connection, this app will likely clear it up. It has a small file size and a lightweight design. Use it to test GPS with minimal fuss. It has a good number of settings you can use to tweak its performance

There could be a better instruction set explaining how to use GPS Test. The user interface seems a bit clunky and unintuitive.

Love the "sundial" and moon phase display. It,would be nice if it showed moonrise and moonset on the "sundial" but Im not complaining. This app has served me well.

Very useful program. Plotting out fence lines on a farm is made much easier by using the co-ordinates in conjunction with Google Maps to produce a CAD drawing. Very accurate.

An excellent user interface, but the underlying GPS operation is substandard. It struggles (and usually fails) to get a fix when "cold started" in a radically different location than before. After a flight from the US to Europe, it often wouldn't find a single satellite after half an hour, even after AGPS was updated via Wi-Fi (no cellular roaming). Over the next two weeks, it managed to find a satellite and get the almanac a few times, but generally wasn't able to move forward from there. Once, it did work up to 10 satellites in use but still couldn't produce a fix, at which point it automatically reset to 0 and couldn't find any satellites after that. Back home, no fix there, either. As others have noted, the altitude reported is noticeably wrong. No, it's not just the geoid. Switching to using the geoid rather than MSL makes it *less* wrong, but it's still way off. A trivial glitch: the light/dark areas of the "world" graphic aren't in sync with the sunrise/sunset times. I've gone back to GPS Status & Toolbox, which gives me solid fixes and more accurate altitude, albeit with a more abstract and information-dense (dare I say techie) interface. OK for everyday casual use.

    I'd like all the features.
