    Calling Pi digits is n standard computation/benchmark technique for measuring computers performance. It's true that there are well-known benchmark apps for mobile devices out there. However, most of them are under suspicion of favoring one or the other manufacturer. 'Pi' app knows how to make it more simple and reliable: by calculating Pi digits, from 1,000 to 10 millions digits, and count how long it takes to your mobile device to calculate them.

    Obviously, the premise is the faster it calculates Pi digits, the better the mobile device is. Well, there are lot of parameters here that aren't taken into account tough: GPU, built materials, screen resolution, sound quality, etc. This test is a restricted benchmark for CPU performance. However, it's easy to understand and carry out. Perfect to show it to your friends and challenge them to beat your records.

    My phone takes less than 40 seconds to compute 10 million decimals of pi. I still remember when computing a few million decimals of pi would take hours of mainframe time.
