Dining Out helps you and your friends keep track of your favourite restaurants and share reviews and recommendations together. Add your favourite places and get suggestions for where to go next, based on where you've already been recently. You will be notified about new reviews and recommendations from friends and they are automatically added to your list. All of your places quickly link you to Google Maps directions and navigation, calling for reservations, the website for more information, personal notes, history and more.
This is a free and open source project and we encourage community feedback and contributions. Visit the project website below to learn more, suggest ideas for enhancements, report bugs, and download the open source code to see exactly how the app is working. Please contact us if you would like to help us translate the app to your native language. And we're looking for a graphic designer to join the team and lead the redesign of the app for Android 4.0+ phones and tablets.

Below is a brief explanation of how the requested permissions are used. A more detailed explanation and the source code for verification are available at the project website above.
Use accounts on the device - When you select a Google account to use, we back up your app data and restore it when switching to a new device.
Precise location (GPS and network-based) - You can sort your list of places by their distance from your current location and get autocomplete suggestions for local places.
Full network access - You can get autocomplete suggestions, place details, and photos from Google, and recommended places and new reviews from friends.
Read your contacts - You can see if any of your contacts are also using the app and connect with them to share reviews and recommendations together. In order to protect you and your friends' privacy, contact email addresses are securely hashed (made unreadable) before sending them to the server to check for connections.
Modify or delete the contents of your USB storage - In order to save space in your device's internal memory, place photos are stored in USB storage.
Prevent phone from sleeping - If your device is sleeping when it's time to sync with the server, then it will wake up for a few seconds to sync.
Find accounts on the device - Your Google accounts are presented for you to choose the one to use to connect with friends and back up your data.
Control vibration - You can turn on vibrate for app notifications.
View network connections - Allows the app to check if the device has a network connection before trying to access the Internet.
Run at startup - When your device starts, review reminders are scheduled with the system alarm and the app resumes its normal sync schedule.
