Shiro, Japanese Castles
by: dalf • 9
Shiro, which means castle in Japanese, is an application to discover and learn more about Japanese castles.
Japanese castles are different from European castles in their architectures, layout and fortifications. It is always a pleasure to visit a Japanese castle and to learn how people lived in there. Only 12 original castles exist in Japan. Some other castles have been rebuilt and some are just ruins.
With this application more than 100 Japanese castles are available with high resolution pictures and a short description.
It's possible to search a castle by different criteria (name, type, category, etc.) or by using the interactive map (Google Maps).
Note that it requires Internet connection to download images and to access Google Maps.
