    A surprising adventure game

    7
    • It's insanely fun
    • Easy to learn gameplay, very long campaign
    • Controls can be a nightmare
    • It's often chaotic

    "Dungeon oddity"

When you start a game and it thanks you for playing, you know that you are in front of something special, afar from mainstream gaming. Otherwise said, it smells like indie gaming at its best. And as soon as you tap on start, it actually feels like indie gaming, irreverently undermining the foundations of casual gaming. It starts without a tutorial, without sense, so the story will unfold as you wonder how things go and figure out where does it go.

Game's about a monocle wearing sir, his dog and a red ball. You can move him and shoot frogs, goats or whatever throughout more than 4 hours in an alternate dimension. Does it make sense? No, it shouldn't. Is it fun? Yes, it is. Trust developers, they only want you to have a good time, and an important part of that fun is to discover and learn how Towelfight 2's gears work. Let the game surprise you, shoot at everything that moves. You'll find yourself begging for more dialogues, monocles and gods (blatantly obvious, wasn't it?) in endless 8bit-ish dungeons.

This game is rather like a proof of faith. You pay (no lite or trial version at the moment) in exchange for hours of fun, that's a deal. It's a rare case of hardcore gaming suited for casual players, a recommended game for anyone willing to leave aside the conventionalisms and dive into the true essence of videogaming. In the end, brave developers need brave players, and it's up to you whether to accept the challenge or not.

Free is an insult; this game is well written and full of madness. Worth upgrading as is all of their games.

Hard to stay alive using a touchscreen. This kind of game would be best with dual analog sticks or anything with physical buttons. The fact that the controls are touch based without any accurate feedback makes it really hard to stay alive. And therefore hard to keep coins to actually buy anything. Personally, I thought the first mini boss was more luck than skill. Albeit needing skill, the lack of accurate tactile feedback and missing a touch by a few mm can be catastrophic. A controller or the rise of accurate futuristic point vibration technology will definitely be beneficial to this game. A lot of (maybe most) people don't have physical extra controllers for their android device, so... Beat the 1st mini boss and that's it, kept dying too many times too quickly.
