Dante: The Inferno is an action-adventure game based on the Divine Comedy

    • Good plot and graphics
    • Addictive
    • Pure action-adventure game
    • Cheap paid version
    • A bit simple: collect orbs and run to the exit
    • Screentouch response could be improved

"Help Dante Alighieri reach Beatrice before she gets condemned to Hell"

You start the game as Dante, the heart-broken hero of the Divine Comedy. Dante’s aim is to acquire the Thorn Ring from the clutches of Lucifer and to place it on Beatrice’s finger. That’s the only way to save her from spending eternity in Hell, the punishment for betraying her husband with Dante. And you’ll have to hurry if you don’t want to lose Beatrice’s love forever- her final judgment is just hours away. In order to get to her, you’ll have to collect all the souls in the level to open the exit gate and pass to next level, reach the checkpoint to save your progress, and quickly reach the exit.

There are 121 levels to overcome, so it’s not going to be as easy as it seems. There are two game modes: story-based or time trial mode. Depending on the time you take to finish the game you’ll see one of two different endings. Along the way, you’ll have to face 4 mythical characters: Minotaur, Cerberus, Medusa, and then Lucifer.

If you’re not really into this kind of game then it could get a bit tiresome, since you’ll be collecting orbs and running to the exit most of the time. The controls aren’t as hot as they should be either and the poor screentouch response decreases playability. This is the paid version that costs 0.99$, but there’s also a free version available with ads.

Dante: The Inferno was developed by TBS Games, an emerging development company which also introduced UniWar, a multiplayer strategy game for Android. According to the downloads and ratings, they seem to be doing well.

Dante: The Inferno is a good example of an action-adventure game, so if you’re a fan of the genre then you’ll love it. It’s simple but highly playable, despite the fact that some important aspects of the game could be improved.

Played it through several times now and really enjoyed it. The levels are well done, do not repeat themselves and have a great balance between being challenging and still fair. I love it. The control on the phone is difficult, but for touchscreen probably as good as it can be. Happy to support you.
