An AR app to play with official Foam Fighters toys

    • Great use of AR tech applied to toys
    • No toy, no game

    "Indoor flying"

This is the English version of Foam Fighters, butyYou can look for the French one if you prefer.

Foam Fighter belongs to that new wave of mobile device games which also make use of Augmented Reality features to interact with actual real toys in order to improve "users' experience" (namely, make it more fun and sell more toys at the same time), an idea we already saw some developers were working on a couple of years ago.

In fact, this app is useless unless you're the lucky owner of one of those little toys. of course, you can fiddle with it as long as you want, but you won't be able to play a thing beyond watching at a superimposed plane and a cockpit on your screen.

If you already had a Foam Fighter toy, you can scan the icon on its right wing and start enjoying a series of missions in a campaign and even go multiplaying with your friends nearby. A smart crossing of real and digital entertainment, have for sure we'll see more of these in the near future.

App and Away with Foam Fighters! Take to the skies with WWII fighter planes for immersive aerial combat. Strap in for fast-paced action and wing your way to victory.

Foam Fighters is designed to be played with collectible foam airplanes that attach to your smart device. Fly them on their own in the real world or test your skills in 12 action-packed missions per plane. When viewed through the screen, the attached plane flies, fights and takes digital damage.

Choose from 3 different theaters of war--the Pacific, Europe or Britain--and play as either Axis or Allied forces. Each plane has an AR marker on its wing that unlocks a different campaign based on historical battles. Missions include dog fights, bombing runs, landing and refueling, and escorting units.

No plane? No problem. Take the Trainer Jet out for a spin before you get your hands on the real deal and practice your flying and fighting skills. Then head over to the website to learn how you can become the Top Pilot in your squadron.

Win the war against boredom! AppGear is a line of apps that interact with collectible figures and customizable toys to create a new reality in gaming.

This was given to my son as a gift and it doesn't even go past the sign in (call name) screen. He is disappointed & so am I. Would give it a 0 but that's not an option.
