An easy and addictive way of playing Backgammon in your smarthphone

    • Addictive
    • No time pressure
    • Don't blame the dice when you lose.

    "Play classic Backgammon"

The ancient game in your smartphone: everyone knows it, although not everybody knows how to play. Still, don't worry if that is the case, since you have a good and easy list of Game Rules to learn.

The options are the following: you can choose to be White or Black, change the level of difficulty from 1 to 5, select the name of rounds and activate or deactivate Doubling Cube. You can play by yourself or with a friend, so this is not only a one player game.

When playing, the board will tell you the Pip Counts (the total distance that pieces from one side must move in order to get them all together into that side's home); so the lower the number, the closer you are to win.

When you roll the dice, the board will specify the legal moves by showing them in green and you'll have to choose your best strategy. Options for undoing, hints and save and quit are also available.

It seems that some users are complaining about the convenience of the opponent's dice rolls, so maybe this can be improved by adding an easier mode. Anyway, we assume that the ways of randomness are inscrutable.

Be sure to check this game out if you want to entertain yourself by playing a classic game by yourself or with a friend, as well as exercise your mind. AI Factory Limited is specialized in developing classic games for smartphones in an excellent way, so if you like this one you're bound to enjoy the others, such as Chess, Four in a line, Sudoku, etc.

Backgammon Free is the best free Backgammon game on Android!

Backgammon is a game of skill and strategy; one of the world's classic parlour board games, played for recreation and gambling. Like Mahjong, Backgammon is played in social groups in coffee houses and bars. Historically, variants of this game are believed to have originated in Egypt over 3000 years ago, from where it was adopted by the Romans and then later travelled to India. It also spread to East Asia, but was largely replaced by Xiangqi (Chinese chess). It is now very popular in the West.

Having read the reviews and responses I decided to carry out some research and played 50 games and made some notes. The amount of doubles thrown over the course of 50 games was actually even. However, it was noticeable that the CPU threw more doubles when bearing off, probably 2-3 times as many. Overall too many doubles are thrown and particularly consecutive doubles, this element is unrealistic. Winning the first roll was even and the opening rolls didn't especially favour either side. Another area where there was an anomaly was the amount of 'miracle' or perfect rolls thrown by the CPU. E.g. throwing doubles to get back on and hit me and make a point with one roll. I was outnumbered by the CPU 8 to 1 throwing this kind of roll! My biggest criticism is how poorly the CPU plays at the highest level, there some awful decisions and checker play and I won 80% plus of the games. The CPU is not aggressive enough and does not hit enough. Too many games turn into a race very quickly and the CPU gets its checkers away from the back very quickly. It is also virtually impossible to win by a gammon with double sixes coming to the rescue of the CPU remarkably often.

Never found one better, but I've had to reinstall it 3 or 4 times because it would freeze up. I'm sure it's because of ads, but I don't update anymore to get rid of ads because they stop for a while, but come back later. Just don't trust that anymore. I do love this game though. One person said it has an ugly board. It comes with different options and the one I use is awesome! One of my favorite games.
