    "Mechanical puzzle"

Puzzle games lovers often don't pay too much attention to graphics and scenery. What matters in this kind of games is how challenging and entertaining they are. Cogs has merged great 2D/3D graphics, lots of challenging puzzle and an original gameplay. Best of all: it runs smoothly even in medium-end devices. Curious? Keep reading.

The purpose is to complete mechanical puzzles like gears or pipes circuits by using your ability and other items like balloons, chimes, hammers, wheels... and many more. Thus, you'll need to slide tiles to order it in the proper way. Some of the puzzles will be 3D, so you'll need to drag with two fingers to rotate the box. You get a initial moving gear and you have to make the gold one start moving too. Same with the pipes and air circuit.

There are three different game modes, 50 levels each. "Inventor Mode" is like the campaign mode: it begins with easy puzzle to introduce you the gameplay, then it gets more complex. . "Time challenge mode": Move fast, you have 30 seconds to solve each level. "Move challenge mode": every click counts, you only get 10 moves to find the solution.

In each puzzle you'll get one, two or three stars for three variables: solution found, time and moves. This score system makes it even more challenging. You can share your best marks on online leaderboards provided by OpenFeint. In addition, it includes a tutorial and from options you can set music and effects.

In summary, Cogs is what a puzzle game for mobile devices must be. So, must-have.

    “It is awesome.” – TouchArcade
"One of the highest quality puzzle games we've seen." – PocketGamer
“The visual design and imagination of the game are stunning, with great attention to detail, and the sound effects are downright enticing.” – Adrenaline Vault
“If a sliding puzzle was a wheel, consider it re-invented!” – TouchGen
“A masterpiece visually, as well with the actual gameplay.” – AppAdvice

Starting with simple puzzles, players are introduced to the widgets that are used to build machines — gears, pipes, balloons, chimes, hammers, wheels, props, and more.

If you finish a puzzle in Inventor Mode, it will be unlocked here. This time, it will take fewer moves to reach a solution, but you only have 30 seconds to find it.

Take your time and plan ahead. Every click counts when you only get ten moves to find a solution.

Bought through Humble. Wanted to leave dev feedback. The chimes are way too finicky. Chime Pyramid specifically. I had what seemed to be, the exact pattern correct, but it wouldn't take it. So I redid it, still didn't work, redid it again, worked. Room for error is ridiculously small. Especially when you can only adjust time by using moves, which are counted against you.

Trying to manipulate the screen to turn puzzles was difficult. Maybe it is a problem with my personal skill level but it was frustrating . Uninstalled .
