Draw Rider Free - Top Bike Racing Games's review

    A ride-as-you-can game

    • Level editor
    • Blatant addictiveness
    • Free, ad supported
    • Dated graphics

    "Beware the pixel bumps"

In Draw Rider, your goal is to stay on the bike the longer the better, while insane realistic physics try to knock you down. 1-bit graphics allows this game to be played on a toaster, and its gameplay can be rather tricky when not plainly difficult.

Rag doll physics are nice, though shouldn't strike anyone by now; array of vehicles is minimal (3) and there aren't many options or stuff besides playing the tens of tracks available. However, if there's something remarkable about this Draw Rider, without mentioning its similarities to many other Flash games, it is the aptly level editor. There's even a website where anyone can create, upload and share their fiendish ideas. That level editor we have asked for to many other games, guarantees an unsuspected degree of replayability many more complex games haven't.

This is the free version of Draw Rider. Give it a go and upgrade to the complete version to get rid of ads. In short, a three almost a four out of five, rounded up for its level editor.

Downloaded it and got a blank, white screen. Is this a bad joke?

A wonderful sandbox for creating your own unique challenges. I feel like a bmx scientist, and that's just great! With that said my only complaint is the controls, I feel that the transition from free rider on the keyboard (pc) to the phone screen may have made maneuvering more cumbersome/slow. All this game needs is a tweak, a very small one at that- to increase the sensitivity of the controls a few degrees. For example, I remember on the original pc game that I could nearly pick up my front wheel just by holding left (leaning back) alone. It's too difficult to even do that when trying to make a transition over a short distance. Another fun limiter is the bike's bounding box, which (in this version) seems to be a larger triangle which makes it impossible to hang upside down on a single line with two wheels. Overall, this is a wonderfully simple game (as it should be), that captures the spirit of the original game- enabling players to draw freely from their minds and try out their own "what if" moments

It's a great game with challenging levels. The only thing keeping this game interesting are the community levels. However, whoever made this game obviously didn't beat it. Level 18 in challenge mode is literally impossible. Not sure if they nerfed the mini bike acceleration at one point, but it made that level unbeatable. If you guys don't care about your game then don't expect people to care and give you money either.
